NEW TO THIS FORUM

I just wanted to stop by and check out other people who are getting WLS in their 40's.  I am 47 years old and my surgery is July 18th.  Does age give you more complications than some of the younger ones?

Hi Tessie =0)  Welcome to the club!  I"m 44, had my surgery on April 11th.  Am not a bit sorry that I did it.  I haven't really had complications.  Some minor hunger and throwing up when I haven't followed the rules...  I've been really working on following the doctors orders and excersizing as much as possible, because i was told that the more you excersize, the more successful the operation is.  Have seen a few postings (on March and April forums) of people having a problem here or there... not seeing it as relating so much to age. 

Congratulations on your decision, though.  I remember it being much more scarey "before" than now...  it's a life changing journey, I wouldn't go back for the world.  =0)

Divine, You will find so much useful information on this site.  The people are so friendly and willing to help.  Welcome and don't hesitate to ask questions.  How far are you into the process?  My surgery is scheduled for July 18th.  I look forward to talking to you again.

Hi Tessie, I am a Kaiser patient and they require you attend a 24 week pre-bariatric surgery class which I completed and graduated on 6/20/07.  I met my surgeon on 7/2/07 and I am await for a surgery date
