New to this Board
Welcome...I'm new to, 2/09/06....I haven't had my surgery, I will have an upper GI on Monday. That is the last prereq and hopefully my insurance approves me......................You look great, as I read some of the profiles and journals, I can't help but get excited and dream of the day that I can also be a success story...Congratulations on staying on track, I know it's not easy...
I live in Southern California, the weather is unbeatable. I am 36 and have three fantastic kids, I work fulltime (in surgery) and go to school partime.....I have a full plate my but my family is great.........
Welcome, once again......if you have any advice or suggestions for me I'd be more than happy to accept and learn...Thank you, carolbear
Hi Carol,
Thanks for the wonderful welcome =) You will do GREAT!! Just try not to get discouraged with your insurance company. I was turned down TWICE before I was approved. It was tough but I persisted and they finally let me have it.
To stay on track once you lost the weight, you MUS****ch it every single day. I weigh myself every morning. I watch it carefully. If I gain a pound or two, so what, but I make sure it's never more than that. I go right back to eating right, and getting rid of that extra couple pounds. I don't ever let 5 or 10 creep on. To be honest, I can't see why anyone does. It would scare me too much.
Good luck!!

Kim;
Welcome to the 30s board! It's usually so quiet in here, I'm glad to see someone post!
I'm married, no kids, live in San Antonio, TX. I had my RNY on 11/15/2005 and have lost 57 lbs. to date.
Today the weather down here is cold and rainy (very atypical for S. Texas) and I'm feeling panicky as to whether I'll ever lose all of this weight. I've been stalled for two weeks and have only lost 5 lbs. in February.
As a WLS Grad, can you offer any words of inspiration?
Blessings,
Jennifer

Jennifer,
Thank you for the wonderful welcome =) I appreciate it very much!!
Hmm... inspiration eh? Well all I can really tell you is that when I hit a plateau, I upped my protein. I know that sounds weird, but it worked. For some reason, it did the trick.
December 19, 2002 I weighed 343 lbs. Today I weigh 135. It worked =)
I hope that helps.
Big Hugs!!
Kim
