New and wondering if I can get some advice

Hello, I am not sure if this is where I would post this, but I thought I would try. I live in Canada, and my family doctor refuses to give me a referral for WLS. He insists that I can lose the weight on my own, even though I have been trying for the last 15 years, only to regain all of it back. Does anyone know if you have to have a referral to go see a bariatric surgeon? I have heard some insurance companies don't require it, but not sure if Alberta Health Care would or not.

Hi Susana, I am not sure the answer to your question but this board does not get a lot of traffic. I would suggest posting your question on the main messageboard.
