Has anyone here had their surgery while in college and did ok?

 Not I.
I think you will be OK tho.  You will miss some school, so I would speak with your prof's about that before hand and try to plan around that.  Get your friends to copy notes for you as well.

Just remember to get a lot of fluids and take it easy for the first week or 2.

Good Luck!

I wondered the same thing. I attend class once a week  and I have my fingers crossed that once it gets closer to the time of surgery my class will be at least 4-5 days apart.

Just me but I would have waited until classes were over to make sure I had enough time off and did not have to worry about assignments.  If you are out in May and have the choice since we are almost near the end of semesters in some schools just wait until then.  You never know what can happen after surgery.

I'm working on my masters degree as well and had surgery 6/7. I missed one class on 6/8 (the first for summer semester) and didn't miss a thing- not even any points! I made it to class on 6/15, and although it was hard I made it through the 5 hour class. I was so relieved and excited. My instructor rocks. I emailed her the Saturday before just to give her a heads up, she totally was understanding and kind about it. If you choose to do it during semester, good luck!

I'm getting my MBA and my surgery is scheduled for 8/17 I don't anticipate any issues.

I'm getting my masters degree and taking three classes. School started the week after I did my surgery and I did okay. I was tired but I also work half days and have 3 yr old twins. i would just ask your profs ahead of time what needs to be done so you can do it before and not have to worry about it the first two weeks.
