... and I feel like maybe I am 50. I can not play with my children. I can not walk with my children and I can not wear cute shoes:(( I am tired of being fat even though I am the one that did this to myself. I want to have more children and the reason I know why I am not getting pregnant is because I am so obese. Anyways, My name is Ginger and I live in the Rochester, NY area. I am glad there is a 30 something board here.

Good Morning Ginger,
My name is Alisa and I will be 31 in August of this year. I'm almost 3 weeks out from surgery and I can tell you that everyday i feel better and better physically! I just walked 2 miles on my treadmill this morning and was shocked I lasted that long. I did though and I was so proud of myself too! As of this morning I have lost 21 pounds since the day of surgery!!!!!! It will get better, and you will be out there playing with your kids soon! Good Luck on your search and journey!!!!

Hi Ginger!

I also know how you feel - I have a 1 1/2 year old and wanted to be a more active mom for him and to also have at least one more. I had my surgery just shy of 3 weeks ago (May 13), and I won't lie - I felt worse before I felt better - first 5 days were very hard, but every day I feel better and have more energy. I am dropping weight like crazy, just trying to make sure that I walk at least 30 min a day - some days i can do more, and now I'm more like 45 min then I go swim to work my upper body. I have lost 31 lbs (blows my mind) and I'm starting to feel more like my 36 year old self physically - I am told that once you drop much more weight, you feel younger and younger and better. I just got my first B12 shot yesterday and that was also a nice boost of energy.

I also highly recommend this!  I had Laproscopic RNY.

Good luck to you!

Hi Ginger!!  I know just how you feel but I don't have any kids yet!!  One of the reasons, aside from getting healthy that I want to lose weight is so that I CAN have kids!!

Have you chosen the type of surgery you want to have?  I didn't see it listed under your name!!

Good luck, and keep on posting!

Sweet!  The DS has great stats for percentage of excess weight loss and for keeping it off long term!!  And it has the most normal eating of any of the WLS!!  There are two great websites that have some great info!!  I am so GLAD that some kind soul introduced me to the DS and saved me from having RNY!!

For myself, I had energy but the main issue was that I could not exercise the way I wanted to.  I have 76 days post op and have lost a ton of weight.  Please Ginger--Be encouraged by the words that the folks on here are telling you.  You will get through this hump surely enough.  Smile girlfriend.
