Congratulations on your remarkable acheivement with weight loss. You must be so proud. I've read a good many articles on addiction in WLS patients and I believe it to be fairly common. There actually used to be a link or forum specific to this, and I'm sorry, I can't seem to find it today with all the changes. I did a search and there were a few articles that popped up but I couldn't find the board.
I applaud you for your sobriety and for finding AA. The journey before you may be more difficult than the one you've been on, but I hope that you find the comfort and support you need from the program. I am a believer in AA and Al-Anon/Al-Ateen and think that it is a better way of life, not just the part of your life where there was once Alchohol, but everything, including our relationships will improve and become easier.
My prayers will be with you Ronda.

I weighed 313 pounds on December 1, 2008 the day of my RNY surgery and have lost 81%
of my excess body weight to-date. Current as of November 1, 2009
OH Mini-Challenge Goal for New Year's Day is 170 pounds. 11 pounds to go!
Ronda,
Unfortunately I do not have any information on AA, but I have a close friend in the Overeaters Anonymous program and she has found a wealth of support online and in person there... she goes to meetings a few days a week and is working her program like no other. If you want, send me a message and I can get you connected to her.
Congrats to 48 hours of sobriety! You can do it!

Ronda,
Congratulations on your sobriety. My best friend Amber just celebrated her 4 year sobrielty anniversary and she regularly attends AA meetings in Virginia Beach. She is also a memer of OH. You can find her by doing a name search under Amber Bennett. I am sure she would love to give you any info you may need.
Good luck. You are doing the right thing. Those boys need their Momma.
God bless.

Hi,
Good job facing your demons! Its very brave of you to identify and claim the addiction you are having now. I have been facing the demon of eating crap and emotional eating lately. Trust me we all have "something" some monkey on our back. Good job with the weightloss and good luck with your future.
Keep on keepin on !
Christine
