Me? Melissa is my name, don't wear it out *grin* I had the dodenal switch, on June 3 this year (only 5 weeks out!) I had it because i wanted to prevent type II diabetes that runs heavily in my family, and to fix co-morbidities like PCOS, and joint problems. I wanted to be healthy & live to a ripe old age with my healthy hubby.
I live in Southern California, but grew up in northern, have lived in Washington and Oregon, and Hoping to move to Idaho!
At OH i chat up the DS board, the lightweights board, and the PCOS board.
Right now i'm a records clerk at a police department...totally interesting work...the cops are hard to handle sometimes (big little boys!) and am currently contimplating a change in career.....

New question for me (i know i started it, but anyway) What pets, if any, do you have?

My hubby and i have a beagle dog names Daisy, a cat named Nermal, and two huge fish tanks...one with sal****er reef fish, and the other freshwater : )

My name is Jenifer and I had surgery on Jan 7, 2008. I chose the band surgery and it is working well. I choose this so I would have to work alittle to loose some weight, learn to eat correctly and try to keep the extra hanging skin to a min. I have a daughter, Madison, who is 3.5 yrs old and my husband who i have been with since High School. (22 years now)

I am in San Jose, CA and I am dog trainer for a living. I enjoy this alot and now that I have lost a total of 44 pounds it makes my job a WHOLE lot easier.

My question would be does everyone who has had some type of WLS have emotional ups and downs? I know  it was mentioned to be pre op and I didn't believe her at the time.

Hi all ! I'm Kara, 33, single(ish)--dating lots :)  Ihad lap rny on 3/10/08, so a little more than 4 months ago.  I have lost 81 pounds so far.  I started out wearing a 22, and I am down to a regular 14-16.  I'm a little taller (five foot eight), which makes a big difference.  Right now my weight loss seems ridiculously slow, so I am putting my scale high on a shelf and only weighing myself on the 15th and 30th of the month...and working out and drinking water and eating lots of protein in hopes that it does the trick.  No matter how often folks say stalls are common, when you are in one you are convinced this is the end and you arent going to lose any more.  I need to start measuring inches so I can at least see the progress there!  Anyway, this is the first time I have been on this forum...just saying hey!

Well - My name is Lisa, I had the VSG done on June 3rd this year also! I had it done because I felt my health was declining very quickly and I want to live life to the fullest without pain 24/7. I live in Michigan, but I have also lived in Long Island NY, Alabama, Florida and Pennsylvania. This is actually my first post. I work for an architectural firm, I work with their 3D drafting software Revit, I train the staff and keep everyone educated on the best practices and help control the quality of the drawings. I have one pet - his name is Cavalier, he is a 1 year old Tabby cat I rescued. He is a handful.

Why did you have it? - Tired of missing out on things that I used to do, plus I was starting to get health problems - and being 5' tall and 222 isn't a good combo!
