I know I shouldnt feel like this but I do, I had surgery (open RNY) may 12th...And at first I was so excited on my new journey and I am very greatful that I had the surgery BUT I dont feel like I am getting anywhere I feel as if it was all for nothing, I know it wasnt because I surely didnt gain all the weight over night so I know its gonna take time! But when will I notice the difference I am still wearing the same pants but smaller tops, I know that its a start but I want to go down in ants too... when is it gonna happen, I know all I am doing is whining and I apologize for that!!! Just wanted to let it out, my family doesnt get it like you guys do!!! Thanks for all the support!!! michelle

Congrats on your surgery and losing 45 lbs! Thats awesome. I'm still waiting on a surgery date so I'm jealous of you! LOL Just keep doing what you are doing. I'm sure your body is still adjusting to the changes. Just keep your chin up and think about all the things you will get to do when you get to your goal weight that you haven't be able to do in a long time. Best of luck to you! Hugs!

Michelle you are closer than I am right now. Be happy you have your tool, and be happy that you lost 45 lbs. You are only 2 months out and lost 45 lbs that is over 20 lbs a month. Keep doing what you are doing and for sure you are going to lose 100lbs by your 1 year mark. Aloha, Nahealani

Hello Michelle - I just wanted to encourrage you to continue doing what you are doing. I am 6 weeks post-op. I had the VSG done. I have to admit it has not been an easy time. I have been struggling and you are right - family and friends don't always understand. I have a great counlser I have been seeing and she has been a great help for me. It is great to have a place here to come and share your thoughts and struggles where people understand and can actually give good advice and help. What ever you do don't give up -  you are just in the beginning. A whole new world is opening up for you.

Hi Michelle,  I just wanted to encourage you to keep doing what you're doing!  51lbs. is awesome...it took me nearly 6 months to lose that much!  My pant sizes were slow to drop too in the beginning.  I started out in a tight size 22 and am now in a 4/6 in most pants, 8 in jeans.  My top sizes dropped much faster than my pants, but it eventually happened.  Just be prepared because it may happen quickly.  I completely skipped sizes 18 and 14 and was only in a 12 for about 3 weeks...so don't buy a lot of any size until your weight stabilizes.

Keep up the good work, you're doing great and give it some time...it will happen!
