Since I'm a carb loving pre-op, please inspire me to love protein. What is your favorite protein food choice?

I love Chicken breasts with melted cheese on top! I also like turkery burgers! I can't eat these too much yet but, ate alot of these pre-op to help loose my pre-surgery weight.  Best of luck with the protein!

Chicken & melted cheese - I can do that! Do you make your own turkey burgers or buy a certain kind prefrozen? Thanks for the ideas!

I do eat string cheese, light version from Trader Joe's - I honestly forget there is protein in cheese. DUH! Almonds = tree nut allergy for me, so I'll let you eat mine, 'k?! LOL Thanks for the reminder about cheese being a protein source.

I'm allergic to peanuts, but don't have a problem with almonds and cashews. So, I'll take all the almonds you want to send my way.

Ya, we'd be dividing it out just to make sure we all got the right nut. Could you imagine the two of us, a can of those, and a few ****tails?!

I'm lucky...I can tolerate most foods.  But my favorite so far is a good steak...tenderloin!  :)  I also love string cheese and beef jerky (chewed very, very well & make sure to check the label for a low sugar content!)  Oh, and another good, protein is the rotisserie chickens that you can buy pre-cooked at the grocery store.  Fresh, cooked, and easy to eat.  Then you can take off all the remaining meat and use it in other recipees:  soup, chicken salad, chicken pot pie (I eat it without the crust).  Hmmmm...I'm getting hungry!
