OT: Home Based Businesses

Hey all, just looking for some input here. I used to own my own MLM which I felt was an awesome fit for my family, but in the end, it just didn't work out as you basically had to work the business every night to make it successful. Having two little children and working FT, that just wasn't feasible for us at the time. Instead of doing that and making it stressful for my family, I've been researching at home party plans instead, to supplement our income and hopefully pay off my out of pocket expense for WLS ($3,000) quicker than I would without a supplemental income. Going based on my interests, it would most likely need to be consumable products or affordable products. Does this seem like the right way to figure out which plan to pick, going based on my interests? The businesses I'm currently looking at are Uppercase Living (vinyl lettering/phrases for your walls), Tealightful Treasures (teas/scones/tea accessories, etc. - tea is a huge passion of mine!), or Wonderful, LLC (a MN based party plan focusing on wine). I don't want to do the typical one's as I feel the market is saturated enough (i.e. Tastefully Simple, Creative Memories, the jewelry one's, etc.). Any thoughts you may have, or which plans you've had experience (either as a demonstrator or gues or hostess), would be great! Thanks peeps!

Sounds like a good idea. The choices that you have pick I have never heard of before. Trust me I have been to alot of parties in my day. I think that if you have a passion for tea perhaps that is the way to go. But, who does not love wine. I think there are alot of wine drinkers out there.  Best of luck on your new adventure.

Hi Mollyne,

I always thought MLM meant:
M: Multi
L: Level
M: Marketing

I have not had my gastric bypass yet. Since we're discussing business here, I created my own WLS acceptance/ awareness company in L8 2007; not only to earn a living but to also pay out of pocket too for my procedure. My goal is to have it performed sometime between L8 Sept. & L8 October, before my 39th b'day. I created the first WLS awareness silicone wristbands in the original colors that best represent OUR community, both symbolically and metaphorically speaking. The colors are purple-white and gray camouflage. It looks gr8.

If you or anyone else wants 2 see 'em they're on my blog/profile somewhere. LOL.

I've gotta get this gastric bypass before I hit 39. I at least wanna know that the weight WILL, with hard work, will be coming off of my body by the time I approach 40 in Nov. 2009. That way as I continue to shrink, I can continue to run my biz and invest in a 'shrink'. I'll be repairing and healing not only what's outside, but inside too.

Cheers to you in all of your progress.

Check out Monavie.  1 product, healthy and we do parties 1 time a week!:)  Money is great! http://www.mymonavie.com/healthsupplement/ That is my informational website.  I did not have to pay for my surgery but needed extra money to supplement my incomewhile I was getting 60% of STD pay.
