Workout Videos... what has worked and what has not

I thought I'd start a thread where we can post the workout videos that we've tried and liked or disliked.  For me, I found Leslie Sandsone's Walk Away the Pounds videos years ago and I've loved them every since. She's got several different ones out and my current favorite is the Walk Away Express.  I love this series because it's a low impact aerobic workout that anybody can do and it's not complicated to follow at all.  I've tried and didn't like: Buns of Steel Billy Banks kickboxing vids Pilates (though as I become fitter and smaller I may give these another try, they are simply too difficult for obese people in my opinion) Various yoga videos (again, I may revisit these) My thoughts are that many aerobic vidoes are too difficult for beginners and don't really offer a beginner stage. Also the kickboxing moves can be extremely difficult to do correctly.

I really like the Walk away the Pounds videos as well. I find that this is easy enough to follow along. I actually just did this work out with my DH. Boy I did get a workout. Felt great when it was over.  This is the only video I have used!

Thats cool! I don't meet many people that also do those workouts. Which series do you have?

I have the 1,2 & 3 mile walks. I mainly do the 3 mile Walk Away the Pounds Express.

I have the Walk-Away Express ones too. I also have the orriginal ones on VHS from years ago.  I mainly do the 2 mile one because I get board at much over 30 minutes. In order to get a more intense workout on the 2 mile walk I use hand weights and ankle weights rather than doing the 3 mile. I guess I have a bit of attention deficit. I also have one called Walk and Kick... it takes the same basic moves and adds in some kickboxing moves as well. It's more advanced, but the time is only about 30 minutes so I'll probably move to that one eventually. When I first got it a year or so ago, it was too much for me. I think I'll be able to do it more readily soon though. :)

i love belly dancing videos. Neena and Veena the belly twins have good ones, their fat burning one will make you feel it, but at the same time you feel so female while your sweating like a pig.   *grins*

I've heard of using belly dancing videos before, but I've never seen one. I'll have to look them up and see what I think about them. That might be something different and interesting to try.

Did you find it difficult to learn the moves?

I am not the most coordinated person in the world, so following complicated moves is not my thing.

You guys might laugh...but I love Richard Simmons!  I love that uses songs I can sing along to.  I find it to be so fun!!  He can be cheesy...but at least he's entertaining.  And, I love that he uses real people in his videos.  The majority of the people are either obese or MO. I also like the Leslie Sansome videos.  They're great for those days you know you need to do something, but you don't have a ton of energy.
