Good morning!  I've been posting at the TN board for a bit and decided I'd spread my wings, so to speak.     My name is Bela.  I'm 31 years old and mother of two precious angels - aged 7 and 11.  I work full-time and may soon start working from home through my current employer.  This greatly excites me!  Instead of getting dressed up for work I can sit at home and work in my pajamas, LOL.   I'm no stranger to WLS or the struggles that come along with it hand-in-hand.  I first started my journey in 2001.  I attended a seminar for a local doctor, then began all of the required testing and such.  The office stalled for simple callbacks and after 2-3 months of trying to just get in contact with them, I gave up.  For good reason, as it turned out - the doctor was being sued for medical malpractice. A few years later, I again began this journey, this time with a different doctor.  When it came time to submit my paperwork, my insurance company denied the lap band, but approved RNY, which I was not wanting.   Here I am again, and hoping I can get approval for lap band.  My seminar is this Wednesday and In the next week or two, I should have all of my doctor records (and recordings of weight) for the past 5 years, too.  My insurance plan states an exclusion for "surgical procedures for weight reduction obesity and their complications"... however, I'm hoping I can find a loophole, since it does not mention anything about medical necessity.  If denied, I'm prepared to fight it out, as my medications and treatment for my co-morbidites alone would far surpass the surgery in just a year's time. I hope you are enjoying your day & best wishes!

Hi Bela, that is a pretty name BTW.  Hopefully everything goes great for you on your approval for the lapband.

Hi Bela,  I just want to welcome you to the group. I just started posting my questions with this group a couple of weeks ago. Everyone here is very supportive and even though I don't answer every post, I have learned so much, just by reading the posts. I am hoping that I will be done with all of my testing by December and then hopefully I will be able to submit all of my paperwork in January 2008.  I wish you the best of luck as you await approval for the lap band. I am still at the beginning stages of the process for WLS.  All the best to you, Kimberly  aka Miss1775

Hello, DMNDGRL, and thanks for your welcome!  It's definitely been a long journey and I hope all this patience and perseverence finally pays off soon!   I sometimes may not get to post as often as I'd like - single mom, work full time, 2 little ones, active in church, and lots of extra-curricular activities for the kids.  I'm sure you all can understand completely!  But I adore the comraderie here and how wonderfully supportive everyone is!
