interested in having wls...

Hello,my name is Imanie.Im interested in having wls(lapband),I just cant find a surgeon who takes medicaid in louisiana.This is my first time on this site,I would like to make new friends.I read alot of the post,this site seems like a close nit family.Congrats to all on the weightloss journey.I would like to have this wls,cause I suffer from diabetas,aching backs and feet,heart disease,sleep apnea,depression etc...I recently lost my mother due to diabetas on 08-06-07.Thats another reason why I would like to have this surgery,I dont want to suffer the way my mother did.Have a bless day,and keep up the wonderful  and hard work!!! hey Imanie! I cant help you with your doc but if you go to forums then click on more forums then find your state on the left side I'm sure they will gladly help you. Also I am so sorry for your loss. that is horrible. My prayers are with you. I too HAD diabetes pre-op but I left the hospital on no meds and now my doc says if my levels stay what they are then in one year they will consider me cured!! so If you have diabetes I really reccomend wls. Have you already looked at all the other surgery options? If you havent it would be to your benefit to research all the different types of surgerical procedures.
