OT: what to be when you grow up
When you were in grade school, what did you want to be when you grew up? Why? And if you're all grown up now, what are you today?
When I was in grade school I wanted to be a teacher - then when a saw what High School students do to students teachers I canned that idea then all I wanted to be was a mom. Still trying to get to that goal about a year off yet. So currently I am a customer service rep.

Hi Amanda! Well, I always wanted to be a court reporter or flight attendant; however, the more I learned about each, the less interested I was. So, I got a degree to be a legal secretary, did that for a while and when a very rude attorney threw a stack of papers at me for NO reason, I decided I would never be treated like that again and left the profession (isn't it funny, how after 12 years, she still claims I would have stayed if they would have paid me more?! I think she needs her head examined, I was 1 of 20+ secretaries she lost...go figure). Got into the salon industry and loved it until the company closed and currently have been a Project Assistant in commercial construction for the past 8 years and am enjoying that.
All I wanted to be was a Naval Aviator!! I wanted to be the first woman to fly in combat! I had the Navy recruiter at my house when I was 16. He told me all about everything. He guess just from talking to me that I would be to fine in the Navy. But before I joined, I'd have to lose some weight. Just to make it through basic training!! Well, that just burst my bubble. So then I went to school to be and accountant. Turns out I am now a Teller Supervisor for one of the top 10 largest banks in the US! Amazing where life leads you!
There are never any problems, only solutions. quoted by a dear and special friend!!!

When I was in grade school I wanted to be a disco dancer or a vet. Both seemed very cool at the time. I dont think I am all grown up. I'm terminally stuck in my 20's, probably because my real 20's sucked so badly. I became a mom, a wife and had fleeting retail jobs. My husband was in the military and we moved alot. He retired and now I am in college full time. Now when I think of what I want to be when I grow up....a Biologist.
