I was denied, then I appealed and was told by Tufts insurance I now, have to partake in their "I can change" program for six months before they approve me! What is the "I can change sh*t"! This program consists of nutrionist, behavior change, etc. ALL THINGS I HAVE BEEN DOING ALREADY FOR TWO YEARS!!!!  I have been seeing my own cognotive behave therapist, exercise physiologist, nutrionist, Weigh****hcer (off & on), medically supervised weightloss w/ RX appetite suppressants, for 2 years! Now you want me to talk to some on the telephone for 6 months, once a week!  What is really strange is I had already BEEN APPROVED in 2002 by Tufts, but  I wanted to be comfortable with my dicission so  I decided to forgo/put off the operation at that time ... until I went to therapy.(shame on me for wanting to be sure). During that time I  hired a personal trainer, kept up with hospitals groups and seminars, kept up with nutrionist appointments, try RX for weightloss, did weigh****chers off & on, went to the gym, basically tried everything know to man all the while soul searching to be comfortable with my decision.  And the reason I went to therapy was to make sure I was comfortable, fully understood and was willing to make the necessary changes for this operation to suceed. Tufts paid for the therapist, nutrionist, the wieghtloss RX's, (so they have proof I did those things) and I PAID for exercise physiologist, and personal trainer ( I have cancelled checks so I have proof).   WHY was I denied this time around? NOTHING has changed in my medical status, except maybe my co-morbities have gotten worse. I think this is just a stall tatic, I may get an attorney. Anyone previously been approved and then encountered this crap from Tufts?
