WLS Tatoo

I think I'm going to get a tatoo to celebrate my WLS when I reach 50 pounds and then when I reach 100 pounds. Any ideas... "One day at a Time" in Japanese? A butterfly for transformation and renewal? A Picture of a Big Mac with the letters "RIP" instead of the special sauce and extra cheese A giant arrow pointing to my big lap band scar under the phrase, "port this way" "You are What you Eat" in Gaelic "Objects in the Mirror are Smaller than they Appear" on my butt What do yo think?

I'm really liking the port this way deal...would your doc laugh? Mine would turn red and look away. Bless his straight and white bread heart! I have mine planned, but keep putting it off. Not sure why. I am considering going blonde'ish this coming week. That's as deep as I get these days LOL

Peggy- You crack me up!! Go Blonde. I love all the change!! I used to die my hair all different colors but now I'm cool with my black hair. I'm growing it out now. When I was younger, it was glossy and long like Courtney Cox or Cher's hair. So, I'm going for mid-back. We are an extreme make overs in progress here at OHers in our 30's.-Jenn C in AZ

I'm growing mine out too! (So far - not sure if I can stand it!) I've always been a short hair person (except for the mohawk in the early 80's) and let it grow waist length before my wedding. I cut it shortly after and now long for long again! LOVE Courtney Cox's hair!!!! I imagine yours was gorgeous!!! Any more thoughts on the ink? I agree with what someone else said - sorry, I forgot your name! (Alana, I went back and looked ;) - think about it and make sure it's you you, not just you right now :) Mine were all thought out and I must admit they are getting lonely and need some friends :) LOL

How about a phoenix...they seem very appropriate post wls....
or your first 2 choices are great too.... the 4 joke ones are funny, but tattoo ink is a little too permanent to me.

It would be funny to get a real and meaningful tattoo, then draw on the "port this way" and pretend that is what you got for a tattoo. (hide the real one for a day)

Oh, my gosh Sheli--------- I live in Phoenix and never thought of the using the mythic symbol. It could celebrate transformation and my love for the desert. Awesome idea! -Jenn C in AZ

I actually have 4 tats..each one has a special meaning...and represents something that happened in my life, so I think you should go for it...I personally will not have no more inking done, but if you really want to then again I say go for it.  Word of advise though, make sure you really think hard and look at all options before making your decision.  When you look at the design and it reminds you of your wls and the change it has made and when you look at the tat you say "that is me", then you know that is the design you should go for!!!  Good Luck!!! ...Alana

http://www.tattoojohnny.com/homepage.asp I really like this site above for tat designs. The tattoo I got about ten years ago is a dolphin. So, I want an animal theme like a lion to represent strength or a Butterfly to represent change. Then below I am going to put this verse from Corinthians in Greek (Eat, drink or whatever you do- do in the glory of God) or I may fall back on 'One Day at a Time'  in a language to be determined. I am going to do it when I get the picture at 50 pounds and the verse at 100 pounds.  -Jenn C. in AZ

I think the Butterfly is a great idea. And I love the Port this way, that's great! Jen in NV

I have been thinking about getting a "372" somewhere to commemorate my starting (and current-wls hopefully this summer) weight to always remind me.
