Hi All -
I'm trying to find some answers on this, but having a hard time. I've Googled and looked and looked....
I take Concerta for ADHD and it has really helped me focus on my work (well... not today...LOL).
I will be having the RNY done within the next 3 weeks (YIPPEE!) and I really need to get more information on if I can still take the Concerta post-op. I'm curious where the Concerta absorbs in the body and how it will be affected by the bypass.
Yes, I will ask my Dr., but I want to have information going in. This is not common, so I don't want to assume that he has all the answers for this. I need to be informed as well, since it is my body. :-)
I did print out some very specific information to give to my surgeon in hopes that it makes sense to him, but I want to understand it as well.
The medications and vitamins they recommend were discovered by the deficiencies of post-op patients. I don't want to be the patient that determines that Concerta should not be taken after a RNY.
I understand that many of you won't have answers to this, but if you do have any information, please reply to this thread. Thanks so much!
Jill :-)
