Did anyone have loose skin issues?
I'm 34 (soon to be 35) and my skin did ok in the beginning. My arms aren't as bad as they could've been. My neck is still ok I am told, but my lower half and tummy are a mess (IMO). I attribute this to not only having had 2 kids but also to having lots of weight gains/losses throughout my life. I don't have flat skin hanging down, but more like masses of jiggly skin that could pass for fat but isn't. I didn't really notice a big skin issue til I lost about 90 lbs. There are some pix on my profile where you can see my arms and legs. People do tell me that I look wonderful and that it could be much worse, so I try to keep that in my mind cause I doubt I'll be approved for PS.

Hi there...I am 34 and just reaching 80 lbs out...I am having big time skin issues primarily in my arms. I always had heavy arms but I can't even begin to imagine what they are going to look like when I am done with this journey. I also went suit shopping a week ago and that was the first time I was without clothes in those horrible mirrors and that bad light...and now can see where my thighs are going to be an issue shortly. I think out skin does bounce back more than someone who is significanlt older but reality is that we still stretched our skin out and it is only going to have so much elasticity. Good luck to you in your journey.

Hi there LaToya,
I do have some loose skin, but I'm only 7 months out. i am at goal, but I do see with continuous workout that it is "snapping" back. I don't know how the stretch marks will do however..those seem to stay. The only thing NOT snapping back are the "girls"..they are just emptier, and emptier..and going more southern..

I am 37 and 9 1/2 months since RNY surgery. So far I have lost 96 lbs. During the begining of my weight loss ( it was a slow process, thankfully) I was working out regularly. I did a lot of cardio (swimming and walking), and weights on my huge thights, back, arms, and butt. My body, althought it was very large and misshapen, it was quite firm. However, I did see the terrible grandma bat wings, everything else seemed to be coming together nicely, again, thankfully to the slow weight loss and the firmness.
I don't work out regularly anymore, maybe twice a week. My body has been behaving nicely, my arms are not as gotesque anymore. They are still big but I think that I can wear little straps, come summer, I am not as obsessed as in the beginning of my weight loss.
My tummy isn't hanging but it is loose, I have three kids, I don't think that 1,000 situps a day will make it firm.
My thighs and butt are coming together and behaving nicely. I had a nice large firm butt and I miss it a lot (so do my size 9 jeans). My breast have shrunk, a little loose, but still manageable with a good push-up bra.
During the start of my journey, I too, had a lot of loose skin concerns. I felt if maybe I would hate my new loose body far more than I hated my big fat body..................Knowing and living what I have, I would definately have surgery all over again.....
Eveybody is different, there are many questions..........How much weight do you have to loose? How quick or slow do you loose the weight? is your body to loose now or firm enought? How much will you dedicate to excercise? Will you eat all your protein (you can have more, never less)? Genes, genes, genes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck
