Just getting ready to buy everything I need, thought I'd ask everyone what their favorite brands are, etc.. .and most tolerable chewables/pills/etc. I have to talk to my nut because our list says Viactiv, 2 chews a day for the first month, but I just realized that Viactiv is Calcium Carbonate, not Citrate, like we are required; I can't believe he doesnt know that. And those Viactiv's are probably the one supplement I was looking forward to taking! I know chewables, many, are nasty, chalky, etc... so I was thinking it might be best to take something to swallow, but I have no clue. So any tidbits of info and suggestions you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Anyone shop at Trader Joes?

Michelle; Citracal makes a product called Creamy Bites that I find yummier than Viactiv. They're avialable at any WalMart. I take 2/day but since we can only absorb 500mg of Calcium at one time, I take them at least 2 hours apart. For multi-vitamin, I take Optisource. They're specially formulated for bariatric patients, chewable and available exclusively at Walgreen's. I take 4/day. Two in the mid-afternoon (at least 2 hours after my last Citracal), and two right before I leave work in the evening. Then, I do a B12 injection 2x/month. That's my regimen. Blessings, Jennifer

Hey Michelle, I take prenatal vitamins (duet dha)! I love them! They make them in a chewable but I told my doctor I could not stand the taste so a week and a half out I was swallowing pills. I also take 5000 mg of Biotin!!!! I'm not taking my calcium like I should but I do chew TUMS sugar free with calcium. I hope my suggestions help. Take care of yourself and congrats on your step to a new you!!! Take care!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keke

Here are my requirements & preferences: Flintstone Completes - 2 X a day Disolvable B-12 Tab (under tongue, 500mg) 1 X day Calcium 2000mg a day. 500mg 4 X day -I tried a liquid calcium, but it got nasty really quick. So now I chew up these fruity tabs I got from VitaCost.com They are chalky, but tolerable. I also rotate them with the Chocolate Mint Chewables from CitraCal. Your body can only absorb 600mgs at a time. Protein - supposed to get 40-50 via supps. I drink a 2.9oz liquid protein from IDS, its 25grams. It's pretty sweet, but I'd rather drink 2.9oz than 16 oz of funky stuff. I get the rest by eating stuff high in protein. Now that I can finally swallow pills, I'm going to get some biotin (to prevent any hair falling out) I know its going to happen, but if I can do anything to help, I will. That's all I take for now! Hope it helps, Amber Oh, I almost forgot. Get some Papaya Extract/Enzyme from Walmart. It's the best cure for stuck food. I recommend it highly.
