Hello, I just recently discovered OH and from what I'v seen so far, there is a lot of support here. I just recently completed six months of nutrition classes through Kaiser which was a very positive experience except for the fact that my doctor wouldn't sign off on my paperwork - long story short, it took her 2 months to do something that should have taken her five minutes :-S needless to say I now have a new primary care physician. I will be going for my first appointment on Thursday, September 7. I'm anxious and nervous, but excited.

Hi Lysa, Welcome! This board hasn't been too active lately. The thing about doctors is that they forget that we can fire them and move on to someone else. I had to do that with a PCP a few years ago because of an issue not related to WLS. Glad you moved on to a PCP that is supportive. Elizabeth

Lysa; Welcome to the 30s board. It's not the most active of boards, but the more of us that post here, we may be able to change that. Good for you for being dedicated enough to change your PCP. Prayers for a successful appt on Thursday are coming your way. Blessings, Jennifer

Thanks for the welcomes  It wouldn't matter if Doogie Howser were my doctor as long as he was attentive and took care of me as his patient. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone. So far, I have found that this site offers lot of information and support.

Hi and welcome Lysa, I know somewhat how you feel, after months of waiting for insurance approval my origional physician wanted 6 grand down because he was no longer participating in my insurance. I had to find another doctor and quickly. Fortunately things worked out I believe for the best. I had to keep remembering things happen for a reason. Good luck to you

Hi Lysa I'm new to this board, too. I have been a member of OH for about a year now, but never made my way to the 30's board - so I'm looking forward to hanging with girls more my age! I'm certainly no expert in the whole weightloss industry, as I'm still pre-op, but in October, I will hopefully be on the losing side! I, too, am anxious, but my nerves supersede that. Good luck with your appt. on Thursday!! Michelle

good choice on switching PCP's. So often, they can make or break the insurance issue. My PCP was absolutley wonderful but I know that other's have had to jump through hoops. Your moving in a positive direction. Good luck on the 7th. You will continue to be anxious and nervous but excited the whole way to surgery!
