I have a date!
September 7th my new life starts! I know it's going to be hard and in a lot of ways I keep thinking, ya know many people are so much sicker then I am, should I really do this, this is just because of arthritis and GERD for me, not diabetes, sleep apnea or high blood pressure like so many. I know it's the right thing, I'll be stronger, healthier, less pain, more active. I'll feel better about myself, I guess it's just fear of the pain those first few weeks and having to relearn what foods my body can handle with my new pouch.
Good thing is I've managed to lose 12 lbs so I'm on the road!
Thanks for all the support folks, I can't wait to start losing. I just keep thinking by Christmas this year I could lose 40lbs and by my birthday in April... maybe even 100lbs, I guess we'll see if my body loses as quick as all of you seemed to.
Talk to you soon,
Renee
Renee;
I don't have the height you do, but my pre-op BMI was 42.6, so very similar to yours. With surgery on 9/7, you're probably going to be down around 60 lbs by Christmas.
Also, with your low BMI, make sure you check us out on the Light-weights board. When you don't have as much to lose, it can be discouraging to see others losing large amounts of weight in the first month or two. Our little corner of OH let's us keep our expectations in line.
