Hello all! After 3 weeks back and forth with the insurance company I'm finally approved. I'm excited and scared all in one ... here's my question to you all. I see many post-ops getting plastic surgery, but most appear to be older 40's, 50's. Those in your 30's and post op, did you need plastic surgery? If so, what did you have done? And how much weight did you lose? I've been working out (water aerobics, lifting weights and walking) religiously for 8 months now and plan to continue (except for the first few weeks after surgery, I'll probably only be walking then****ep hearing people say it helps the skin be more elastic, but I wonder how true that is. Would love to hear your experiences. Renee

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The emotions you are experiencing are very normal. I was so scared/nervouse that I made myself ill, hoping that my surgery would cancel...it didn't, thank God. As the DAY gets closer, your emotions will be running wild. Don't lose sight of why you started the process and even though it is not easy, your life will change for the better...One more thing, after surgery you might feel "why did I do this to myself", that is very normal..keep your spirits up and look to your family for lots of support, the site is here to help, advise, or just to listen...Most importantly, lots of prayer... You seem to be on the right track, with the excercise. Keep it up, don't stop, it will help alot. I am 36yrs.old and have three kids and a big belly. So far I have lost 55lbs. and my belly is slowly going away. My body is coming together nicely. I work out 4 to 5 times a week for 2 or 3 hours. Treadmill for 45min., swimming 45min., and weight training for 45min. I feel and look terrific. My arms, tummy, inner thights, and back are very toned and gaining muscle..On a sad note, I am noticing that my breasts are getting smaller, I have some to loose but I would love to keep them, lol. I'm losing very slow. My doctor told me that it is best to loose slow because it gives my skin time to form to my body, by the look of things, I will NOT be needing any plastic surgery....However, it depends how I take care of myself through my diet and keep up my excercise lifestyle....Good luck and I hope that I was able to offer you some help... Warm regards, Carolbear

RNY on 11/15/05 with
Renee; I attribute my not needing PS to drinking lots of water and exercising regularly. I'm down 95 lbs. and don't have enough skin that a reputable plastic surgeon would see me. I've got 21 lbs. to goal, so we'll see where everything ends up, but so far, so good. I turned 34 earlier this month. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 158 / 137
