The weekend went pretty good for me! Friday I called the surgeons office and was given my first set of appointments (April 22nd support meeting, may 3rd orientation, may 11th meeting surgeon) and made an appointment with me new primary physcian for may 8th (my old one retired). I went to the Renaissance Feastival on Saturday with some friends (I have no girly friends who live in Florida so feel free to sympathize with my two guy friends). We got there at opening time and I made them rush to find the Fantasy Braiding Booth so I could get in line before anyone else! My hair is long so it takes 15-30 minutes for the Braiding Person to do the braiding in my hair. I was first in line, it was great. The guys sat on a bench and 'people watched' while they waited for me to get done. I think they were sitting in a puddle of drool since the gypsies kept walking back and forth between their performing stage and their sales booth! (For those wondering, yes I went in garb [costume]). Afterwards, we went and actually watched the gypsie performance (next time I bring a bib for the guys LOL)! Then we did some dart throwing and then some archery. Needless to say, I was pretty bad at both and was just happy to hit the board/straw! We wandered around to the human chess match, the Queen ruled that due to disgracefull conduct the match was void and a rematch would be heald later in the day. After that, we went to the Live Jousting and that too was ruled to meet again in combat later in the day due to dishonorable combat. From there we went to the Mud Pit and watched a very funny rendition of Jack & the Beanstock. Afterwards we went to the Washing Well Wenches show, that was SOOOOOO funny. We were laughing SO very hard, it's one of those shows that you really must see. By this time, I was sunburnt pretty bad in very specific areas that somehow didnt get enough sunblock and my feet were soooooo sore LOL. So we left, they made fun of my sunburn patterns the whole way home. Next year... next year will be a year of shopping!! YAY!! I wont be able to wear the garb I wore this year! I already have my 'shopping list' started as far as new outfits for the feastival. While this isnt the 'highest' thing on my list of "The things I look forward to after this surgery..." I still look forward to it Yes, a full blown out post only a simdigit related to the surgery =D

Wow, full garb in April in FLORIDA!!! Yikes. It get's sooo hot here in NC in October for the Ren Fest. I love, love, love it too. I'm hopping to have my surgery some time this summer so that I can still wear my current ensamble this October/November. The great thing about mine is that it is pretty adjustable. I can't wait!!! We go every year and I always see people I have known since highschool. I am just hopping that I have lost just enough weight so that I can cinch up my bodice nice and tight. I feel your pain in regard to the sunburn!!! Ouch. I am very pale skined and I know in full dress some of you is put up high on display which makes for a nice sun burn. I am also waiting for some of my appointments. I have already met with the Nutritionist and the Exercize Pysiologist. I meet with the Surgeon on 5/19. I have that day off so I have squeezed in apt 2 with the exercize lady, the surgeon, the psych eval, and my yearly pap. I'm going to be all kinds of poked and prodded that day. But I don't want to waste my day off. But I am glad to know that I am not the only person on the planet that is worried about how their garb for ren fest will fit after surgery. lol Take Care Krista

Whew! I am not a loner in the world of ren fest addict =D I try to go every year. Ours is pretty small compared to the one we went to in Maryland one year for vacation. My fiancee is too excited about the shopping for my new garb... even more then I am LOL. I cant begin to guess what he's got in his head that I'll be able to wear but we'll see LOL. (Maybe he should be getting a psych evaluation too... >.>) I'm already peeling (darn the fair skin grrr) i have this one red spot on our.... umm.... parts put on high display that is worse then the rest. It's where my water bottle was while watching the combat chest. It's so ugly lol and sore. 5/19 will be really busy for you! Poked, prodded, traffic... poked and prodded LOL. I have my spread over multiple days because they just dont all fit into one! I still need to make my psyche apt but have to confirm who my surgeon will accept the eval from .

If you are interested I just heard that the fair opens in Atlanta, GA this weekend too. My understanding is that it goes for several weeks. I hear that it's a big one. But I am still wondering if I could take full garb at this weight and that temperature. lol I've only been to the one here in Charlotte and one time (the first time) in Michigan when I was 10. So I really don't know how big these things are in other locations. But after WLS, if I look good enough in garb, I'm sure I'll make ANY excuse to wear it. Even if it means going to another state. I hear what you are saying with your honey. Geeze, mine would have me wearing some pretty revealing stuff now if I did not say no. I can only imagine the kind of stuff he is going to try to talk me into wearing after. lol I know that 5/19 is kinda gonna suck, I am just remembering the BIG picture. The hubby will be with me to drive, so I am not so worried about the traffic. He'll also be there to ask questions and hold hands etc. I just have limited vacation and if I am going to loose a day of it not doing something fun, then I am going to be sure that one day is not wasted! The psych eval scares me. I have heard so many horror stories about them trying to wheasle folks out of their money by being shifty in their diagnosis. Besides who wants to pay to be told they're crazy? Right now, I am just trying to start myself on some of the post-op habbits. Not drinking and eating at the same time is the one in the works right now. I have found that it is not easy to not eat and drink at the same time while also geting in the 64oz of water each day... that's the challenge I guess... Take Care, Krista

Atlanta is a bit far out for me this year =) but it's good to know it's a fesible weekend get-away for next year! I think our men need the psyche eval more then we do =D Their expectations seem to be way way out there LOL. Dont worry to much over the psyche eval. The more you worry the harder it is =) I'm sure you'll do fine and just know you'll know when they're trying to go overboard with it. I just got my psych eval (using a psych that has a flat rate and is highly recommended by my surgeons office) on 4/19. I have to take a half day for it but it's all good. If I can get into work on all 3 of the other days I will cause I dont like not getting paid =p. No PTO for me this year... but they dont threaten to fire me or anything so no complaints. I have yet to conquer the no eatting 15-30 minutes before you eat and no drinking with your meal and then the no drinking for 30-60 minutes after you eat. It's hard! oh and then getting use to sipping water and not guzzling it to reach Water Ballon status of 64oz of water isnt easy either! These are harder then switching from a dinner plate to a salad plate when dishing out dinner. LOL Take Care, Becky "I am not out of touch with reality, it's out of touch with me." ~ unknown.

Yeah, I am sure my hubby could benefit from a good psych eval himself. The water thing is really hard. When I was drinking it all the time, 64 oz were a breeze, but now only at certain times... it's a challenge. I like you quote... reality really is over rated!!! I'm glad I have talked to you... I feel more normal now. Like there are other people out there like me My e-mail is on my profile if you wanna e-mail me directly. Take Care, Krista
