Need advice, having 1ST CONSULTATION!

Hey Guys! I am 28, a wife and a the mother of a gorgeous 1 year old girl. I am having my 1st consultation on Monday the 10th. I am thinking of getting the lap band. I am worried how it will affect future pregnancies and how my recovery will affect me as the mother of a toddler!!

Hi Stephanie, From what I know about a lap band, they just "unfill" it for pregnancy. So really it has no effect on pregnancy, although they usually want you to wait a year before getting pregnant. As for your baby girl now, well you may just have one issue... usually after surgery there is a weight restriction as to how much you can lift. I've not been to my 1st consult yet (it's scheduled) but I hear that the weight restriction is 10 lbs. I have a 2 year old son, so that is one of my worries too... But definately ask your doc for his advice. Krista
