I went to my informational session last night. My insurance will NOT cover this surgery but I have decided to proceed as self pay. I mean we finance and pay $20000+ for vehicles everyday why not for a new body? Since I do not have to jump through hoops for an insurance company, the only things I have left do are 1)HPylori Test 2)Get a doctor's clearance for sugery: I have the appointment scheduled for Tuesday to complete 1 and 2 :D 3)Go for my consult with prelim testing and 4)QUIT SMOKING - This is my 3rd day smoke free. The very nice lady told me that would be my longest hold up. I have to be smoke free for 2 months otherwise we would have everything else ready and waiting before then. I am soooo excited!!!!

I had to quit smoking for surgery too. My surgeon requires 90 days before he even sees you... but I have been without for more than 2 weeks now. My advice, take it or leave it is 1. Cinnamon Gum (this helps me in the car) 2. Get a water bottle with a squirt top (Deer Park Sport Bottle) for when you are arround other people smoking. The water replaces the hand to mouth motion. It helps. Congrats on your decision. Best of Luck to you! Krista

Good for you there is nothing wrong with financing a new body. Good luck. Tina
