stall...getting sad
so i havent lost anything going on three weeks. it is starting to get to me becuase i am not doing anything different. i get scared that this is it, thats the end of my loosing and i will be stuck here forever. i know... dramatic.. but i cant help but be scared that i wont loose anymore. i am only three months out and have lost about 60 lbs, but i still have so much to go untill goal.. about 80 or 90... im getting discouraged. i even upped my protein, upped my water and exercise these last two weeks.. im getting in around 90-100 grams of protein a day without exceeding my calorie limits of 1200. argghhhh. sorry im venting.

Hi Tiffany, calm down. This is normal. Your body is still getting used to losing it's precious fat even at 3 months out. Also, your body needs to catch up and shift it's fat around every once in a while. There is no way that this is the "end" of your losing. What sorts of exercise are you getting in? Are you doing any type of strength training? If so, you could also be gaining muscle mass which can weigh the same as fat, but take up less space, which brings me to my next point. Do you take measurements? Have you lost any inches recently? Well, it sounds like you're doing everythig right so the weight will start to come off again, I promise. Keep up the good work anf way to go on losing 60 pounds!

thanks, i think i really needed to hear "there is no way that this is the end of your losing" i know its not, but i needed to hear it from someone else. this whole process can play mind tricks sometimes haha. i am doing hour long exercise videos everyday and walking. i dont do strength training.. what kind do you reccomend? i live in a college dorm and dont get home everyday untill after 7 (after class then work) so something that can preferably be done inside.... i dont check inches becuase i am already obsessed with the scale haha i dont need another addiction. thanks a ton Lynn and congrats on your weight loss!!!!!

No problem. If you ever got a queston or just want to vent you can always email me, I'm here for ya! The strength training I do is from a book called 8 Minutes in the Morning by Jorege Cruise. I like it b/c it doesn't take no time at all to do the exercises. Everyday (except Sunday) he lays out 2 exercises you do that target only two areas like monday might be triceps & biceps or Wednesday might be shoulders & back, etc. All you need is some hand weights and you're ready to go. I've been doing it for 3 weeks now and really feel and see the results. Well, keep up the good work and I promise, the weight scale will move again

tiffany,
step away from that scale girl! i know you've heard this already but slowing down/stopping is totally normal and won't last. this is why i only weigh myself once/month at that doctor's office so i won't stress myself out. because this stress is not good!
one bit of advice that really helped/helps me is to measure my weight loss in inches, not just pounds. there are and will be times my weight will stay the same but my body will still be shrinking. i've lost over 37 inches so far!
even if you haven't been doing this all along, you can start now, today. measure your upper arm, 3-5 from your shoulder. measure your bust, under your bust (like bra shopping, whee!), your natural waist (not what the low-rise pants say!), 7 inches down from there for your hips, and another 6 inches lower for your upper thighs. oh, and do your wrists and neck. record these numbers and check measurements once/month (when you weigh) and watch the numbers shrink!
and don't stress, keep on the program and you will indeed, get off this stall!
