struggling with my food demons :)

I am 5 months post-op, RNY, and I am finding myself able to tolerate more and more food, which of course is normal but I am a complusive eater and I am so afraid that I'm not training myself to view food differently and capitolize on the surgery. I just recently got back into therapy and my support group and it is definitly helping but I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice as to how they stopped relying on food to make them feel better (even though we all know it never really does). Anytime I am anxious, sad, bored, happy, pretty much anything...I turned to food and it is soooooo automatic for me. The hardest part is when I am home alone. Any tips or suggestions?

I'm the stay at home mommy to a toddler, so I can be pretty busy. What works for me is taking an hour out of your day to do a project that intrests you (scrapbook, needlepoint, knitting, crochet). Don't know how? Michael's offers classes for a low fee or Walmart sells kits with books included. I find keeping my hands busy keeps me from eating (this is also what I used to stop smoking years ago). I also use sugar free crystal light hard candy because they only have a few calories so I don't feel guilty about having 2 or 3. I hope this helps!
