Hey 20's Board!!!

Hey!!! I've been a lurker for a while on the Main and California Message Boards... I post every once in a while but have decided it's time to come out of hiding. My first appointment with my PCP is on Feb. 1st. I'm excited to finally get the ball rolling. I love the support you all give to each other and I can't wait to give my support back. Shay

Thanks Lynn. Wow you've lost a lot of weight! Looking good Congrats!!! I can't wait for that to be me. I actually couldn't wait any longer so I moved my appointment up to Monday. lol

hey shay, welcome to the board! i'm in the LA area, and would give a huge happy referral to the surgeons at pasadena's huntington hospital, specifically doctor lourie or doctor powell. they've got a great peer mentor program designed to help patients cope/deal with both the mechanics of the surgery and the emotional issues that arise with two support groups meeting every week. and, the stats these docs have are better than ucla's program. so check 'em out! the surgeons require you to attend the monthly WLS seminar before they'll have a consult with you. it's always the first wed. of the month at 7 pm. feb's meeting is located in the braun auditorium of huntington hospital, off pasadena ave. park in the south lot (free after 6 pm) or on the street. hope to see you there! -kari

Me too!! I log on now and then and read what other people are going through. I'm 26 and hoping to have WLS in Pasadena, Ca. I am originally from SoCal but currently living in Northern California. I may or may not move back down but since my whole family is down there, I opted for surgery in Pasadena, not far from my home in Rancho Cucamonga. GOod Luck. I met with my PCP a month ago and she was/is very supportive.
