Hi everyone! I start the spring semester at the local junior college tomorrow. It'll be my first official outing since my surgery. I'm kinda nervous. I haven't told anyone but close family and few friends (practically noone) about the surgery and I've lost 34 pounds already. LOL My dad says people can really tell already, so I'm kinda nervous about the whole meeting people and having the small chit chat. Just wanted to voice some concerns on this board since you all rock! Have a great Tuesday! *~*Jaci*~*

I also haven't told a lot of people. I still don't know if I want to post-op. I find that people always have an opinion, and I don't want to hear it about my choice for surgery. So I decided post op if people ask me how I did it, and I don't want to hear any opinions, I'll just tell them I'm eating less. It is the truth. Amy

i've lost 51 lbs since october 2005 and my family is really aware of the changes in my face/body (in part because i'm open with them about what's going on and they're just as excited) but other people aren't as much. i think part of the reason other people might not notice is because they remember seeing me back when i was slimmer. so don't be dissapointed if people don't immediately say anything. they may have in fact taken notice but just chose not to make a big deal about it since you haven't. so when the chitchat comes and you tell people what you've been up to, you don't have to confess your new hobby, just stear the conversation into areas you're more comfortable talking about. it helps to have at least one friend/family member you can squeal about milestones and changes though. just to get it out of your system. when anyone else does notice my weight loss i just say i'm eating less and exercising more which is true.

Thanks for your responses! Its helping to ease my mind One of the classes I'm taking is called Showing and Fitting- basically showing animals in competition. I show sheep, it'll be so exciting when we go to our first competition in March and I won't be in the ring bright as a tomato sweating and breathing hard with my little lamb! I cannot WAIT! *~*Jaci*~*
