What to do ?
So far everything is great ive lost 72 lbs since Oct 10th and everything is all good, i just love buying clothes now or even just wearing my old clothes from like years n years ago.
Okay i have a problem, and its a bad problem, so i think it is. Every single night say like a couple of hours before bed. Im getting this craving and i just need to eat everything i see ? aghhhhh !!!!!!!! why ? I had this same problem before surgery but i overcame it, and was able to control it but now its back. I drink lots of liquids thinking its just that im thirsty but still no sucess.
Any of you out there have the same problem ? or any of you have suggestions ? I really need to stop this bad habbit.
On a good note ive been walking an hour a day and lift weights 3x a week. But this craving right before bed is uncontrollable. Well i know i can control it but its just soooo darn hard.
Well thnx for reading this n take care all
Robert,
Hello. I know exactly what you are talking about. I actually never used to snack before bed even pre op npw I get hungary at night.
Try to figure out if it's just head hungar or if your hungary. If your actually try to get something thats packed with protein. Whether it's a shake or protein bar. I also get the soy chips in bbq flavor. They are great for a crunchy snack. Suger free popsicles sometimes will do it too.
Try your best to keep it under control that way you'll break this habit which can be devastating down the road. Snacking is the enemy!
Good Luck,
Michelle

Okay, first off - are you actually eating everything? Because with our new system we know we can't really. I mean, a bite or two is one thing, but a whole cake, well, that's another. Maybe it'd be worth it to indulge a little too much and experience the results. I'm sure that'd cure you.
If that's too radical an approach, and I understand if it is, then I'd check your protein levels. Are you hitting your targets regularly? Vitamin goals too? If you are lifting weights you need to be taking in at least 100 grams of protein on those days. I love the Balance and Cliff bars because it's sorta like a candy bar with the chocolate and nuts w/ 15-20 grams of protein. Try eating one of those in the evenings, BEFORE your craving so you train yourself to NOT to respond to the craving. Remember, our body can't absorb more than 30-35 grams of protein in a meal, so don't load up all at once. That much protein will pass out of our system before it's been absorbed and put to use.
For me, I'm a big gum-chewer, always have been. I find it satisfying now in a different way than before surgery. Now it gives me the oral fix I need. Though my doctor isn't wild about the idea it works for my cravings.
Best of luck,
Kari
