I am new to this board I am 22 and had gastric bypass surgey last year on Nov 21, 2004 I have lost over 138 pounds so far and I am still losing I weighed 286 pounds at the time of surgery I was a bad diabetic, high blood pressure, asthma, athritis and aloty more things I have done very well but I am here to tell you it has not been easy. But well worth it! I am no longer a diabetic which is great no more sticks or pills for that. Well That was a little about me and I can't wait to talk to some of you all in your 20's this is great they have a section for us now!!! When I was active with this website they did not and that is why I have not posted in a long time.

It's nice to hear the reality of the surgery, that's it's not easy. I have my surgery in about 2 weeks. Luckily, I am healthy now and I'm having it to prevent those problems in the future. Welcome, I'm also pretty new here.

Hi Jessica! Welcome to the 20's board! =) I'm glad to hear you are doing so well after your WLS. I had mine 3 and-a-half months ago, and NO it has not been easy! lol But, even at only 3 months out, and 78 pounds gone, it has been very worth it! Would I do it again, even for just 78 pounds? YES! Again, Welcome. Hope to see you posting often. Amanda in Akron
