Pre-op

I am new to this site. I am scheduled for surgery on the 19th of Dec. I am a little nervouse, but I try not to think too much about surgery. I had my pre-op visit w/ the Dr. yesterday and found that my liver enzyme level was elevated so I had to have an ultrasound today. This worries me a little, I'm scared that my surgery will have to be postponed. Did anyone else have this problem pre-op?

nope, i didn't have that either. but take heart and be encouraged, your doctor wants to have all the info. s/he can get before putting you under the knife so relax and go with the process. surgery itself wasn't so bad, i had more difficulty with the gas they pump in your body cavity and intestines. i've never had such bad cramps in my life. but my liquid pain med vicoden really helped with that. and walking. lots of little walks up and down my hall (baby steps!). within four days i was totally fine so it's not forever.
