I know this is off the subject of WLS...but I'm going through it and it takes so long and there are so many appts. to go to where I actually have to have something to wear so.........this is embarrasing to post and I don't know if I'll get any replies...but here it goes... Yesterday I went shopping because I realized I didn't have any jeans that fit. Well all my jeans are a size 24 and all are getting a bit too tight to wear..don't laugh..I went to like 4 or 5 different stores and coulndn't find not one pair of size 26 jeans. I only found like 4 pairs of size 24 jeans. Well the jeans that I did find were not even cute. They were soooo ugly, and they didn't even fit...at all. I ended up crying in the dressing room cuz it was such a horrible experience. I hate shopping now. Ok. So my question for everyone is where do you buy your clothes? And is it as horrible for you as it was for me? Have you ever had a good experience in buying clothes?....like have you ever found a store that had cute stuff that actually fit? Any replies would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hey, Well I see that you live in California and I use to work for a store called Torrid... Which is owned by Hot Topic. For starters, hardly any of their merchandise is like Hot Topic, they gotten away from that look for the most part. Torrid's sizes are 12-26 and have really cute stuff, they are a bit pricey. I know they have Torrids in California, not sure if your close to any.. if not, you can always go to www.torrid.com. Happy Shopping! Oh! I also forgot.. Old Navy has plus sizes too!!! and they're cheaper and got cute stuffs too. So I would look into both and you can do online shopping with both stores. I hate shopping just as much.. hehe. I hope this helps you out... ~nikki~

Hey, I really hate shopping now a days, because it's hard to find anything that fits right. And if they have my size in something is more geered for an older person. I would try DEB, I don't know if they have those where you are, but they have young plus size clothes that are pretty cute. The tops are always to small, but the jeans are great. Also have you tried Fashion Bug? I've found some cute clothes there. Even Target has a plus section, but it takes time to find the cute stuff. Online stores seem to have a bigger selection of plus clothes, but they are pricey and it's hard to know how each piece is going to fit. I hope I helped some, I hate to shop too... Jacqueline

I love Lane Bryant. They have everything for every body size (in my opinion). They are a bit pricey, but I've found that good plus size clothing is in 30-50.00 range, which isn't great for the pocket book *~*Jaci*~*

Hi Tamara, I too live in Southern Cali and I am also pre-op. I wear about a 20 right now. Mervyns has a small juniors plus dept but very fashionable jeans that go up to like 32's i think. They have some cute tops as well. Ross also has a selection on plus jeans you just have to really go through them to find the cute ones. Good luck jean searching! ~nancy

Wow!!! You guys are awsome!!! Thanks so much for all the wonderful replies......I looked at torrid a while back and really loved their stuff, it's so me. But I couldn't afford it back then, and forgot all about it until you posted about it. Also Mervyns is the place where the dressing room scene happened Maybe I was just looking in the wrong place...but all their jeans seemed to only go up to 24. I've never heard of DEB...but will look into that. Lane Bryant seems a little too pricey and more strait edge than what I'm used to but they did have some cute tops. And I can never find jeans that fit at Ross...maybe but ugly ones but I do have alot of really cute shirts from Ross. There is a Fashion Bug in my area but it doesn't carry plus sizes anymore for some reason which really sucks cuz thats where I used to buy all my clothes. Anyways I did order a few jeans and tops and purses from Torrid! They're great. Thank you all sooooooo much for the wonderful info!

Hi There, I totally reccomend Old Navy... there jeans are great... In order to try the Plus size clothes on I think you have to go to a Flag Ship store (located in bigger cities... I used to live in SF and I know they have one there...) but you can always order them online... Also, Lane Bryant.... you said it was a little too straight laced for you... but one big benefit is that you can get coupons for LB... Plus jeans are pretty standard... I love their Seven jeans... you just have to look for sales.. Good Luck! B 280/207/150ish Lap RNY 8/8/05

i second lane bryant for the jeans. i don't like the store's polyester career tops but i stock up on wardrobe basics like t-shirts and jeans. they also have good sales/clearence racks. oh, and i do like some of their casual cotten bras.
