Well good for you. I had lost 12 lbs before surgery. They did not require any amount of weight, just as ong as you did not gain. I had the Lap RNY done. I was in the hospital for 2 nights. Went back to work in 2 weeks. I lost 32 lbs in 2 weeks. This last 2 weeks has been very slow coming off. I had very minimal pain if any at all. Only problem was dehydration. Now I don't do good w/ protein suppliments so I get it through dairy and meat. But other than that I am doing good.
So are you ready???
Erin
Was it hard for you to lose the weight and maintain your weight before the surgery??? Cuz it seems sooo hard for me right now I actually gained 1 lb this week Did you or do you excersise? That is the hardest part for me but I still force myself to go on the treadmill 20 mins a day but I seem to be slacking off a bit....I'm having the same surgery It's good to know there wasn't much pain for you and I'm glad you are doing well....Just remember if the weight is coming off slow at least it's coming off and you are not still gaining....plus it seems like you lost alot in a short period of time so maybe this period of slowness is making up for it and it will start to go faster with each week LoL that seemed to make more sense in my head...I think dehydration might be a problem for myself also because I never have drank enough of anything....and I've tried some of those protien supplements and YUCK ! I'm on a high protein diet right now and I just can't drink the shakes they gave me so my doctor said to eat lots of chicken and fish for my meals...How much can you eat with one meal? Heck yes I'm ready!!! Beyond ready!!
Well it didn't come off quick. The only difference I made was to drink Diest drinks only. Other than that I ate whatever I wanted. Just switchig drinks was enough to make me lose. I also joined a gym and worked out 3 to 6 nights a week.
I eat about 1 0z of actual food at a time. Now like a baked potatoe will take me about 2 hours to eat. It just depnds on what it was. The 2nd day in the Hospital I couldn't even drink a protein drink. They poured it into a small medicine cup and I drank from that ( 2 tablespoons ).
It takes awhile until you can get up to eating somewhat normal.
I have days where I eat every 2 hours then I have days like today where I only ate 2 times and it was only 1 oz each.
DRINK DRINK DRINK...that is all I have to say about that. I had black outs from dehydration and also I couldn't poop either.
Any other questons I can answer for you?? This is fun...lol
Erin
LoL....This is fun...and I get my questions answered so quickly I've tried drinking diet sodas and I like Diet Dr. Pepper alot....It tastes just like the regular Dr. Pepper...Are you able to drink diet sodas now? I heard somewhere that you can't drink anything carbonated so I tried all the different kinds of crystal light and they are great! What, besides water, do you drink now? Were you hospitalized from the dehydration? I hate hospitals and don't think I could take them for more than two days after surgery so I am gonna work on drinking more now. One ounce is so small compared to what I eat now. Are you full after you eat? Do you feel as satisfied as you did when you ate before the surgery? Do you ever get head hunger? And if so how do you deal with it? LoL...well you asked for them...Thanks for answering them! It is a great help for me!
Swoo boy you can ask questions...lol....Just teasing.
Well you can't do sodas, even if they are diet. The carbination swells up your tummy. Now later down the road some people have done them or let it go flat. I LOVE crystal lite. I drink it all the time. I also make my own ice tea. Light applejuice is another thing you can drink. There is so much out there you just have to read the labels and do a trial and error on them.
I was lucky I took control of my dehydration before I ended up in the Hospital.
I always feel satisfied. In fact I am never hungry. I did have some head "CRAVINGS", but that will fix itself if you eat the wrong things, believe me!
No problem hun, I am glad to help!
