how to remove surgery tape residue

FYI - my doc told me the acetone in nail polish remover breaks down the sticky brown tape residue left from the IV and over incision marks. place a moistened cotten ball over the residue and let it soak a bit to break it down. works really well, much better than soap & water!

I was bored at home after my surgery and just peeled it all off while watching TV, lol. When I saw my Dr. 1 week after surgery, he was expecting all that residue, and I told him I was just REALLY bored and tired of seeing it so I did something about it b/c nothing else worked. I din't think to use acetone! Oh well. -Lynn Lap RNY 8-16-05 297/252/140

I wish I would have known that a week ago. It took me forever to get that crap off. Thanks for the info maybe I can use it in the future.

I used alcohol on cotton balls...that worked well too.
