I have a livejournal account and recently under the WLS community that I am we did a list of things that we can do.. or want to be able to do... by having this surgery. I thought that it might be a good list to share... I can - walk 3 miles without getting tired. - button my pants without having to tug my fat into them - unhook my bra without help - take the stairs without worry of being exhausted at the top - take a bath without pressing against the sides of the tub - sit in any chair I want to without worrying about breaking or not fitting. - wear pantie hose without rubbing burns between my legs - walk in high heels - wear normal boots without wide calf measurments - bend over and touch my toes - touch my toes to my nose (don't ask how I know that one) - dance for hours - sleep on the couch - lay on the couch with my fiance - finally see my waist line - paint my own toenails - wear a "normal" size shirt - shop in the jr's section of wal-mart - cross my legs - sit on the floor without my legs going numb - get up off the floor without help - tie my shoes without lifting my foot onto a chair - wear knee socks - wrestle with my boyfriend without the fear of hurting either of us I no longer get heat rashes or yeast rashes People don't recognize me anymore I sometimes have to take a double take in the mirror before recoginzing myself I was told I have a boney butt by my boyfriend I feel taller
