You are a year out and not taking calcium and multi??? only sometimes for iron??? does your surgeon not recommend that you take these or are just not? It is very important you can get very sick. try your best to get these things in.
I take calcium chews twice a day, b12, multi, and iron. for protein you should try protein delite... there are 2 flavors that are very good... vanilla very berry and pineapple vanilla, also nectar lemon tea is decent. also slim fast low carb shakes and carnation instant breakfast also have pretty good amounts of protein...good luck to you!

you can order them at many websites. I recommend www.A1nutrition.com... that was the cheapest place I found it. Also you can order a protein sampler from bariatriceating.com that way you can try several for relatively cheap and the vanilla very berry and pineapple vanilla were in my sampler. Good Luck!!!
Have you had any recent blood work done to make sure your levels are all good? I would highly suggest taking your mult-vitamin and calcium! I take centrum silver chewables twice a day (if you don't like chewables, you can take pill), twin labs chewable calcium citrate +D +magnesium (from vitamin shoppe) twice a day or more, and b-12 500 mcg once a day. These are are vital to your health. I don't take any iron, because my levels have all been in good range and I do not need it. As for my protein, I don't care much for the shakes either, but I know these are vital as well so I order from www.vitalady.com and get pure whey banana scream (the only one I like) which has 30g of protein in each serving. You can order sample packs for $1.99 each from there too, to find out what you like. When I run out or get lazy and forget to reorder, I go out and buy the slim fast low carb drinks which has 20g protein for 11oz so I split it in half and drink only one half at a time. These are pretty good too.
As for exercise, I had bought walk away the pounds videos a few years ago and started using those again. If you can't buy anything, I would suggest waking up early and turning on one of the aerobic shows that come on every morning (fitTV, lifetime channel, etc) and working out to those. If you can't do it in the morning, you could tape it and do it at your own time.
I hope this helps. And please take your vites. You need them! I'm still new to wls, but I have a friend who had surgery and was 2 years out and she got lazy and wasn't taking any vitamins, not even B-12 and she constantly was getting sick with colds and flu (lack of essential vites like C), almost became anemic (probably from low iron, Dr. set her staight), and started to have nerve problems (from lack of B-12)! Please don't let this happen to you.

Hi...not to flame you...I'm just asking a question?
Are you taking a multi vitamin? If not I'm sure that you probably need to take one.
I take a Multi Vitamin w/Iron, Calcium Citrate, B-12, Zinc, Biotin and Folic Acid. The protein drink that I use is called Nectar, you can purchase it from www.Vitaminshoppe.com or your local Vitamin Shoppe. They taste great, and if you DON't like the flavor, just return it, and they will give you your monsy back. I love the Iced Tea, and Lemonade flavors, just mix with Crystal Light or Water with ice, and you have a GREAT drink. I joined a gym, but I also purchased Walk Away the Pounds from Target and Girl....IT WORKS. I have the 1,2 and 3mile tape. Just pop in the DVD, and before you know it you have walked 1mile, and personally I think that these tapes prepare you for long walks, if you are not use to walking for long lengths of time.
If you haven't you might want to go to your doc, and get some blood work drawn to make sure your stats are fine.
I should of been taking my multi's an calcium along time ago, but i've been afraid to do it because they are so big. My boyfriend bought me some though and is making me take them everyday. As for my bloodwork, it was just done last week an I was told today that my iron is low (welli knew that its always been low) so back to the iron i go. So now I know what i have to do so here I am kicking my own ass..
as for exercise, what do u guys do at home? im broke an really can't walk (i see a surgeon for the knee next month) so what about weights and stuff..what do u guys recommend?
thanks!
