Five more months to go... this is driving me crazy!!!
I have Cigna ppo for insurance, and they supposidey ( lol, I can't spell ) cover this surgery... but in order to fulfill their quirements I must have completed a six month doctor supervised diet! I have been obese and on a "diet" since I was a child, does Cigna really think that within the next six months something is going to happen, that hasn't already in the last 15 years I have been struggleing with this. ( my parents put me on at diet at doctor request, at age 6 ) I know that other people have had to do much more than this, and I have even heard of sup. diets required for a whole year, I just feel fustrated with it.
I'm a worryer, so things like this go through my mind: what if hubby looses job and we loose benefits?, what if the 2006 benefits change and don't cover surgery anymore?, what if I'm getting my hopes up, spending money on doctors visit's, all for them to tell me no!!!! With five more months to go before I can even apply this stuff is driving me nuts!! I guess I just needed to vent, thanks for listening guys!!!

First of all...Take a deep breath! I had to do the same thing, a six month supervised diet for Aetna, even though I had been dieting and trying to lose weight since my teenage years. It seems like a million years to wait but it down go faster the further you get into it. A good thing to do while you're waiting for the six months to pass is to get all the other requirements finished...Psych eval, sleep study (if you need it), blood work and all the other tests, that way there once you finish with the 6 mos everything can be sent out ASAP!!
Don't worry about your hubby losing his job or losing your benifits or wasting your money on drs visits...The only thing that you'll accomplish through that is raising your blood pressure and worrying yourself sick. Even if your hubby loses his job, they have to offer him the same health insurance plan for a higher price for up to a year after his termination, so you take that option and you'll still be covered for insurance.
Just take deep breaths and assure yourself that you'll get through this and next time this year you'll be on the losing side!!!!
Feel free to email me if you need to vent or want to talk!!
