Any of you 5mo post-op or beyond??? I am depressed. I have only lost 5lbs in the last month. I usually average between 10 and 15. Did weight loss really slow down for you around 5 months??? I put myself on a liquid diet today and tomorrow to try to restart things and get back into fat burning mode. What do I do?

You are NOT alone I hear MANY people that had WLS in May say that they have slowed down some, but I am going to start the PROTEIN train tomorrow, and all those that want to join...HOP ON That will surely put my body in FAT BURNING MODE...also I'm going to start even more

Hi Melissa, My weightloss slowed around 6-7 months to around 5-7 pounds/month and some months you may see a jump back to a 10 pound loss and some months may be less. There is a reason they call the first 6 months the honeymoon phase Try upping the exercise rather than cutting calories at first and then work on the diet if the exercise doesn't help. That worked for me anyway. Don't get depressed though...u r totally not alone in this! Also take measurements...even if u don't see the scale move as much the tape measure might prove to be helpful Best wishes to u! Hugs, Sara

Once I hit 5 months, my weight loss slooooooooowed down. By 6 months post-op, I was only about 85lbs down when almost everyone else was 100lbs lost by then. Oct. 7 will be my 10 month anniversary and I am now down 113lbs and very close to goal. As long as you keep doing things right, we all end up at the same place in the end. A friend of mine once told me that those who lose all the weight quickly in the beginning sometimes don't develop the right eating habits because all their weight disappeared during the honeymoon phase. They never had to actually diet like I did because I still had lots of weight to lose at 6 months. I am sticking to the idea that as long as I keep following the rules, it will all come off in the end . Cheer Up, liz
