TT or baby??
I'm about 17 months out, down 136 pounds, I'm 28 years old and I will need a tummy tuck. However I do want another child (have a son who is 7). I had my first c-section, so I've been told chances are the next time will be to. Now I am soo very anxious to get rid of this nasty hanging skin, but should I endure and hold out, because I am in school right now, so I do not want to get pregnant for at least 2-3 more years. I have heard people say that it's a bad idea to have a TT if you plan on having any more kids, but I am sick of my jiggly belly!! Tell me please, does anyone have any thoughts, or personal experiance? Please, I need any kind of thoughts or ideas!!
Hello-
I'm not as far out as you I'm only 4 months out. But I know my tummy is gonna look rough. I am in college and I don't want a child until I'm 28. I am only 21. So I'm looking at having hanging skin for a long time. I hear that if your gonna have a child wait on the Tummy tuck otherwise the muscles are stretched back out and you will have to have another. Losing 62 lbs my tummy is looser. I will have to deal w/it though the excess. Bc I don't have the money for it 2 times. I will be lucky to have the money for one tummy tuck. I wish you the best. I guess it depends on if you wanna spend it twice or what.

I'm still pre-op so I'm really not as far along as you all are, but I'm a huge Dr. 90210 fan, lol.... I saw a young women ( early twenty's ) go in for a partial tummmy tuck ( I think it's where they remove the excess skin they just don't tighten up the muscles ) I know tummy will stretch when pregnant but I have yet to see a women have the kind of excess skin and problems that wls people have with it. I guess these would be some really good questions to ask a plastic surgen at a consult.
Good Luck!!!

Oh man! I've been contiplating about this for the past few monts! I have to have a tummy tuck because I have so much skin sagging that it's actually tearing my muscles off my stomach. I went to 2 plastic surgeons and chose the second one. His very first question was if I wanted anymore kids. He said that if my answer was anything other than a flat out no, then he was not going to do my tummy. He said that I would be putting myself at risk and completely tearing my body apart.
My husband and I thought about it for a while but every morning when I get up and have that terrible pain in my panni I got closer and closer to knowing that I was done having kids and needed the surgery!
Good luck in your decision!
I have to say this is some very disheartening news. I'm 24 and do not plan on having children for several more years, but I know I cannot live with the extra belly skin. I was actually already planning on a tummy tuck and a boob lift. Is it possible to have your cake and eat it too? Can you get the tummy tuck and still have the baby? Even if it means having two tummy tucks??? Oh, geeze...one more thing to worrry about!!!

You know this might sound a little VEIN but I'll say it anyway...I just hope that I don't get flamed ...this is just my 2cents
I think that it all depends on what YOU want, and how YOU feel about walking around with loose skin hanging off your stomach. On a personal note I'm 26, married, and back in school to persue my Masters...as far as children are concerned, I don't see them in the near future, not to say that I won't have any. Next year this time I hope to have dropped 130lbs in a bikini on a island enjoying myself, and I will probably need a tummy tuck, and I AM going to get one, even if it means getting another after I have kids, if I decide to have them. But in the mean time, I'm doing sit up's and crunches like CRAZY so that when I do decide to have a TT it will look good. I have known MANY people to have TT and still have little pouches, becasue they didn't fo ANY type of ab exercise to help there mucles. Just my 2cents. I hope this helps you
