drink more alcohol after wls?

hey i am new to this board but i am always on the main message board.. but ws wanting to ask this question to people in my age group... do any of you drink alcohol more frequently since surgery? boy i do more than i would like. before surgery i never drank but after surgery you get so tipsy off 1 shot , its an easy buzz.. i know i know, alcohol is empty calories, and i could become an alcoholic i know all that. i was just wondering if ya'all enjoyed drinking more now.. thanks Amy Jo

well i wondered can you drink at all. they say no u cannot it is to make you deathly sick.. so i have been afraid to even take a sip of anything.. and by the ways i am not a drinker back in the day now that is another story lol..

Not that I do it more often, but I do enjoy drinking once in awhile. Be careful. Last weekend I drank two nights in a row and ended up gaining 4lbs!

Hi Amy Jo, I had the VBG so its a little different for me because I can drink without the fear that it will affect me in the same way as an RNYer. I do drink quite a bit. I go out a lot with friends and we drink. Like u I know its empty calories, but I have fun and I dance all night long so i figure I am working it off. Before surgery I just spent a lot of weekend nights at home on the couch afraid to go out because someone might say something about my weight. Now I go out there and have fun and say screw what everyone else thinks about my size. I would say I enjoy life more now and part of that enjoyment has involved drinking Hugs, Sara 356/232/175
