Another Post-op question~~~
Hi Chrissy,
My appetite is back. I am almost a year out and its been back for about 2 months now. I actually feel hungry sometimes. It isn't all the time or anything, but I can eat more now too. Its scary I won't lie, but I knew this would happen and I feel prepared to handle it. Some days I eat some "bad" foods and other days I barely eat. its all about balance for me. I feel like a "normal" person now as far as food. When I watch naturally thin people eat...sometimes they eat a lot and sometimes they don't eat at all. Since it seems to work for them and so far its working for me I go with it.
Also i have had my fair share of experiences getting sick. I would say about 3-5 times a month I try something new in my diet and sometimes I get sick. In the beginning I found out which foods didn't work for me pretty fast. I have trouble with steak and chicken and pork, so I switched to things like soup, tuna, eggs, chili and lite hot dogs. I do eat carbs too, but I have trouble with potatoes in any form...fries make me sick very quickly, but that is a good thing Also I have found that I can only eat protein alone. If I mix carbs and protein I feel sick.
If you have any other specific questions for me please feel free to email me any time

In all honesty, my hunger came back at about 2 months. I am generally starving after about 3 hours...sometimes longer. I am supposed to eat 6 small meals a day, so this works for me.
I was terrified when I started getting hungry again....since so many people say they are never hungry, however I just make sure I eat when I am HUNGRY...not bored. Its hard to tell at first, and I catch myself trying to graze occasionally.....but its going good so far.
hope that helps!
