The Passing of Angel Angie

Hi everyone I thought you would like to know that one of your OH members who had surgery on 9-1-05 passed on 9-5-05 due to a leakage or blockage that the doctor did not find. We still do not know the true reasons of her passing but I thought it would be appropriate to let you know of her passing as many of you wished her well on her way to surgery. Angel left behind 3 small children, Korey age 5, Katlyn age 3 1/2 and Gracie age 2 her husband of 9 years asked me to thank all of those who prayed for Angels safety during surgery. The family is grieving as you would expect, Angel was a young vibrant and beautiful young girl who I will miss for the rest of my life. She was opposed to surgery but her doctors told her she needed it and her support group and peers assured her it was safe, she followed the rules to the Tee!!! Things happen and theirs a plan for all of us but it was too soon. I will be looking after her little ones for now while her husband tries to cope. Oh wow!!! How very sad indeed!! I didn't know her, but I still want to send out my condolences to her friendss and family. Thank you for this post. It slaps me with that reality check about this surgery!

this has sadden me so bad. i have a little girl that will be 2 in a couple months and i can't imagine leaving her and my husband behind. you have to believe that god does have a plan and that's just about the only thing that can keep you sain sometimes. i feel deeply for her family. i was wondering what hospital and doctor operated on her. i live just minutes from her location in pembroke pines so for all i know it could have been with my same doctor. i'm 7 weeks post but it never leaves your mind of what could have happened. once again, my condolenses and prayers are being sent to this family. and to those out there reading of this and second thinking, just remember it's YOUR choice and it's up to you to be aware of everything. best of luck. xoxoxoxo maria

friends and family, First, let me say I am deeply sorry for your loss... It is so sad to see a young life cut so short, espically with 3 young children involved. We take on this surgery in the hopes to save our lives, but sometimes it costs us our lives. I hope that this will be a reality check to those who are going into this surgery casually. This is not an easy way out as the public tends to portray it. As we can see from the loss of Angel, things can happen. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in this time of sadness. Hello, I am very sad and sorry to hear that a young person has lost their life to bariatric surgery. I am 24 years old and had surgery in Feb. 2005, even though it was a good thing for me, I feel it is wrong that society pushes us to feel terrible about ourselves and some doctors feel that this is a quick fix to a long term issue. Unfortunantly, this young lady had to leave behind children and a husband. I will be thinking of her family and friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless.
