well, i took it for a while, let me tell you, if you choose to eat something oily , you will NEVER WANT TO DO IT AGAIN, so in that aspet yes it does help divert you from eating it, but in the long run i didnt like it, once i ate some salad that had the dressing mixed in with it (oil based), the next thing i knew i was sitting at the computer in a puddle of what seemed to be shi**y salad dressing, i know its gross, so yes either wear a diaper for those times or read very very carefully everything you put in your mouth. good luck

I agree with Laura, it WILL divert you from eating fatty foods. I lost control one night and ended up having to replace the chair in our home office. YUCK! I did manage to lose around 22 lbs. but it didn't stay off.
Yuck is all I have to say about my experience with that. I experienced greasy nasty "leakage" that was uncontrolable. It was very embarrising, but I stayed on it for 1 month before I gave up on it. I did lose 5 pounds, then two months later I had gained 15.
The best success I had was with phendametraz(sp?)Its a doc prescribed appetite suppresant with a kick. I ended up losing 30 pounds in 3 and a half months. BUT I developed high blood pressure so I stopped taking that too. heart attacks and high b/p are really bad in my family so I was not gonna tempt fate any more. I ended up gaining that back too, but it was over about a year. Then I decided on surgery for me.
I have a friend that has been taking phendametraz and is doing great though, shes been on it for 6 months and is down 50 pounds already! (she was 225 and now 175) Her blood pressures just fine and her labs are all good. Now shes weaning off of it. SHe has a lot more will power at avoiding "bad" foods than I did, so hopefully she can keep it off.
There are a lot of weight loss meds out there. Some work well for some people, some dont. All you can do is try and see how your body reacts to it. I hope you can find something that will work for you!
I know some people have a lot of success with Meridia too. Talk to your doc and see what they have to say.
Good luck!
