Protien!
Ok, I am having ALOT of trouble with protien. Does anyone have any ideas of how i can get in at least 50gms of protien a day with out drinking the shakes? I cant stand any of the shakes i have tried i have thrown up every time. I dont know if its a mind thing why I cant drink them or what, but i desprately need protien. I only get like maybe 20gms of protien a day. My hair is starting to fall out already i mean not alot but i notice when i brush my hair or run my fingers through my hair it comes out. I get in just about all of my water. But i have never met the protien goal not once since i had surgery. Please help me. Is there an easier way to get your protien?
Also i have one more question! How much protien is there in ground meat?
thanks for yalls time-

Eggs, cheese, milk, yogurt, peanut butter, all your meats are great sources of protein.
If you like eggs a good thing to do is boil them - you can have a quick snack. For instance 1 egg is about 7g of protein.
And have you tried protein bars or even cookies? They make some that are pretty good, just be sure and check the sugar content.
By ground meat what do you mean exactly? My nutrionist said 1oz of any kind of meat is pretty much 7g of protein. That is just a rule of thumb to go by, may be a little more or less.
But your hair may fall out regardless. I've always met my protein requirements and I still lost some hair, But don't worry it doesn't last too long and it does come back!
Tuna is a great form of protien. A little can (dunno how many oz, sorry) has 20 oz of protien for 90 calories. You probably want to mix it with something (tuna salad) as it's kind of dry alone, but it's a great source.
Something else to consider, is Unjury powder. They have an unflavored version that lots of people like. I've heard of people making protien jello with it, but I haven't tried it myself yet.
Try www.fitday.com for the protien content and calories in things, it's great.
There's a few protein drinks out there that are not in shake form so that may make it easier to swallow and digest. Try Stacker 2 Protein Water in Grape, Pink Lemonaid, Strawberry, etc. Each bottle packs 20 grams of protein. Visit www.stacker2.com for more info.
First of all.. your hair isnt falling out because of the lack of protein within the last month. Hair falling out occurs three months after the deficiency. Most people dont get in protein the first few weeks which is why most people lose thier hair at 3-4months, because it was due to the deficiency in the beginning (3-4months before).
I dont do shakes either. I usually try to have a protein bar(15g) in the morning...or sometimes a SlimFast shake (20g), which really good. I try to shoot for at least 40g of protein a day and usually, after breakfast, I am halfway there. For lunch I get in some type of meat, tuna(13g per 1/3cup), chix breast, beef, steak, Taco Bell Pintos N Cheese.
Whatever protein I get in for dinner is just an added bonus to me.
Do you like fish? If so eat Cod it is really high in protein. Shoney's serves Cod. Here is a list of what it has, I got this from fitday.com. Try going there and seeing what food has the most protein. This one alone has 41grams of protein. And is very low in fat. Hope this helps.
