NEWBIE!
Hey everyone!
I just found this board and think it is great that younger people get a chance to talk about the surgery with people thier own age.
Well I am from Minneapolis, MN. Moved here from a college in Milwaukee, WI. Before college I was living in Rockford, IL where I was born and raised. I am 23yrs old and started out at 312.5lbs!!!
I had the surgery 3 months ago and have lost a total of 61lbs! I feel amazing and my surgery was the smoothest thing that ever happened! No complications or anything. I felt fine and was walking just a few hours after surgery.
Well I just wanted to introduce myself!
Catch ya later!
Well from what it looks like, you havent had surgery yet. The HARDEST thing to get over post-op is HEAD HUNGER.
One thing that will help you tremendously is to ask yourself everytime you go to the fridge "Am I REALLY hungry?" Most of the time it is NO! You are either bored, it became a habit, or some other reason. Even now I struggle with it. I'll find myself looking in my fridge for no apparent reason... because I really am not hungry. It is a hard one to break. (This will probably help with your weight loss also)
Hey there!!! Surgery is gonna come up so fast for you. Before you know it, you will be in the recovery room starting your new life.
If you wanna meet sometime, we could chat. What hospital are you going to? Drop me an email or something so we can talk (if you wanted to). I know it helped me right before surgery to ask a million and one questions... and my support groups helped a tons also.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Melissa
