Waiting is the pits!

Hello everyone. My name is Tina and I'm 28. So I only get to hang here for one more year. But I feel I fit in better here. I'm still very young in my mind. And hopefully I will always feel that way. Now for the reason of this post. I'm waiting on insurance so I can get a date. I don't like waiting it makes me feel like I'm not in control and I hate not being in control. My doctor must think we will get a quick approval because he has already put me on my liquid diet. Which by the way is not fun, but necessary I understand to shrink the liver. Has anyone else been put on a liquid diet before they had a date? Just wondering. Tina

Hey Tina Hang In There My Louisiana Buddy. Most People Get Put On Liquid Diet But I Had The Lap Band And It Was A Choice So I Decided Not To. Anyways Good Luck To You On Your Journey. Are You Having Rny Ds Or Lap Band? And By The Way You Can Hang Here Even After Your Out Of Your 20's. Until Next Time Peace Love And Rock N Roll. Nickster

Thanks Nickster. I knew I would have to go on a liquid diet but they told me I wouldn't have to go on it until two weeks before surgery. But he put me on it and it hasn't even went to insurance yet. I'm hoping it's becuase he thinks it will get a quick approval. I'm having RNY.

Tina~ Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I am also 28 years old and the rest of the 20's gang promised they would not kick me out with i hit 30. Maybe that counts for you too! I like it here, I feel more comfortable and these early 20 year olds keep me feeling young. I know how the waiting will make you I am pre-op and waiting to see my surgeon. Everyday I get a little more insane. I am just starting this journey so I can only imagine how you feel right now. Good Luck, Kay

Thanks Kay, I feel much more comfortable here too. The main board, not to say anything bad, but most people there are much older. And don't relate to younger people well. Hope all goes well in your travels if you have any questions I would be glad to answer what I can. Thanks again Tina

Hey Tina! I hear you with the waiting part. I had to wait twelve weeks for my insurance approval! It was brutal. But I ran into all kinds of problems (like wrong fax number....that was frustrating). All is well now and I finally have my date! I am so excited...and a little nervous too!. T

I doubt you will run into the problems that I did! I'm sure you will be fine. Most of the people I know from work who have had the surgery have waited 4 - 6 weeks. But we have United Health Care and they are very sllooowwwww.....

I have UnitedHealth Care and they have always been great to me. I think it depends on the company you work for as to what kinda of service you get. My husbands company is a large one and the insurance folks tend to kiss butt.

I just read your profile and see where your insurance company is not covering the surgery anymore. It's not the insurance company that decides that, it is the company you work for. They are changing it so they don't have to pay so much in to the insurance company. Because most people don't realize the company you work for picks and chooses what insurance coverage it wants to offer it's employees. People get so mad at the insurance companies when it is actually the company that they work for, that is changing their coverage. My husband works in human resources and he has to deal with people all the time getting mad at insurance when its not them its the company. He tries to make people understand that. Just thought you might want to know its the company not the insurance people doing this. Still sorry you had so much trouble with yours. The losing of the paperwork was the insurance fault though.
