New Here!!!

Hi Everyone, I'm 21 and I'm just starting out on trying to get approvel for wls. I have my first appt. on my med. supervised diet next week. I'm going through the dreaded six month medically supervised diet. Anyway I'm really excited to have found this board and to have some other people my age that have gone through surgery or are about to, to talk with!!!! Jacqueline

Hey Jacqueline! I just read your post and was wondering if what insurance you have because if you can you should try to atleast get on the waiting list with the Doctor of your choice while on your 6 month diet. I was on a waiting list for 11 months. My consult is on Aug 5 next week. Long process! Maybe it would save you some time..?? I would check into it if I were you. I switched recently to Cigna PPO, I hadn't even really thought about that or their even being a waiting list, which of course there must be!! Thanks I'll remember to ask about it when I go in. Thanks!!

Hey neighbor! =0) Just so you know, Cigna was a complete pleasure to deal with as far as my approval goes. It was submitted, they requested a letter from my PCP and a nutritional analysis, and I was approved. Hope it goes that way for you too! Take care, Ashleigh 264/251/204.5/140

Hi Jacqueline, My name is Rachael I had my surgery through medicaid in Fresno, California then moved back to Houston, Texas I did not have to go through the medical diet, I just chose another surgeon, is it your insurance that wants you to do it? Rachael 315/180/1??
