Kinda new!

So I just found this part of the forum. I was floating around in the Roux-En-Y one for a bit but I wasn't coming across anyone around my age!!

SO HI!!! lol My name is Jenn, i'm 27, mom of 1. I've been thinking about WLS for about two years. My mom is the reason I was able to take the plunge because she got tired of me *****ing and called the doctors office to make an appointment where she had hers done in 2004. 

I already did my seminar and had my first consultation--I have decided that I am going to get the RNY. Tomorrow I have to get a liver ultrasound done because I had high levels in my bloodwork back in 2010 and the ultrasound showed my liver was enlarged. I requested it seeing as it might be helpful for my insurance company to approve my surgery even more. I also have diabetes which I am being tested formally for. I know that sounds weird but I am bad...I don't take care of it because I am in denial!!! Knock on wood, I haven't had any complications but the reason why I stopped taking my med(Metformin) was because I NEVER remembered to take it and my sugar levels were normal. We will see once my A1C comes back!!

Congrats on your first big step!  That one was the longest for me too!  Hopefully your insurance will see the diabetes co-morbidity and approve you!
