What is normal?

Hello,

I haven't had WLS yet but I plan on it soon and have been meeting with doctors.  After talking with some of the people that didn't have WLS until they were in their 40s/50s, I have found that many of them have sagging skin or need a Tummy Tuck.

Some people have said that because we are in our 20's our skin should go back to normal?  What have people experienced here?

Thanks,

Hi! I just had my surgery (VSG) 3 weeks ago, but three years ago I lost 75 pounds on my own and didn't have any issues with loose skin at all. I would say the only difference might be the speed of weight loss- because weight loss is faster after surgery there might be a bit more loose skin. However, because we are younger our skin has more elasticity and is much more likely to bounce back fully.

a lot of us on the board want it or have had it. i need it pretty much everywhere. my boobs are saggy, my bat wings are huge, i have a moderate sized panni (but it still bothers me a lot), my thighs could use some work too.

hey,
so i just got the surgery but my twin sister got it two years ago. Right now we are 22. When she got the surgery she weighed 250 pounds and she is now down to 130. she has some loose skin  on her belly, thighs, and upper arms. It isnt so bad that she needs a tuck or anything and she looks cute in a one piece. the only bad part is her boobs which completely deflated. Basically what i am saying is , is thateven though we are in our twenties we can still have loose skin.  some parts can be just so streatched taht they cant really bounce back, like placces with deep streatch marks. but exercising and toning can be helpful. but im guessing loose skin for us 20-somethings is a lot diffrent then those in thier 40's.
